Voirrey is an active feminist, socialist and Quaker. She lives in Cornwall with her husband, close to their three sons, who live in Cornwall and Devon. It is wild, there, in so many ways – close to the sea, the valleys and the moorland. Voirrey was unemployed in her younger years, and later worked with people whose mental health had been injured by their life experiences. Later she became a commissioner of services. She belongs to the North Cornwall Poetry Stanza, and loves it, as well as her fellow poets. They sustain each other.
