Jean Gillespie is a visual artist and poet. She was brought up in a rural mining village in West Lothian, near the iconic Forth Rail Bridge. Jean started writing in 2020 during lockdown and has continued with a passion ever since. She enjoys taking her poetry to open-mic nights in Edinburgh, and is working on merging her poems and artwork together; she has exhibited these in Kyoto, Japan and at the Tatha Gallery in Scotland. She is currently exhibiting at the City Arts Centre in Edinburgh.
