Ieva Dapkevicius

Ieva Dapkevicius is a poet and biochemist from the Azores, Portugal, born into a Lithuanian-Portuguese family in 1998. Her first book was published at the age of nine (The Golden Horse, a children’s fairy tale), and she has never stopped writing since, in parallel with her scientific pursuits. She has retained her fascination with fantasy and the natural world, two anchors in her creative work, as she navigates homesickness, loneliness and the anxieties inherent to one’s early years. She is the founder of the Orangery Literary Society, a small but vibrant online community for up-and-coming poets and writers worldwide.
