Vernon Lee (the pseudonym of Violet Paget, 1856–1935) was a French-born British writer known for her ground-breaking supernatural fiction and theories on psychological aesthetics. Living openly in a same-sex relationship with writer and theorist Clementina (‘Kit’) Anstruther-Thomson, Lee has become a Queer icon in latter years.
