LGBTQ+ Identity in Fiction and Poetry

Miriam Burke’s short-story collection, Women and Love, explores the lives and loves of women of all walks of life, with a particular focus on LGBTQ+ experiences and Elizabeth Train-Brown’s poetry collection Salmacis: Becoming Not Quite a Woman explores the concept of gender identity through the lens of myth.

Also successful journalist and presenter, Alex is best-known for CBBC’s Newsround, and for reporting on various S4C and BBC programmes.

Exeunt – book launch

Come and join us in celebrating the launch of Exeunt: The Stage Door Project!

In 2020, for the first time in centuries, heavy red curtains swept closed on stages across the West End; all theatres were closed. Two actors, keenly feeling the loss of their theatre homes, turned to a form of art that could still thrive over the following months, and set about photographing the stage doors of the deserted city.

An extraordinary collaborative project almost two years in the making, Exeunt – The Stage Door Project collects together these moving images, alongside anecdotes from some of the world’s leading luminaries who have trodden the boards of the pictured theatres.

Every Trick in the Book – book launch

Join us for the book launch of Iain Hood‘s new novel, Every Trick in the Book, at Waterstones in Glasgow!

Waterstones says: Iain Hood takes on the spycops affair in a genre-deconstructing and playful take on the police procedural and undercover cop novel in his second novel, and he joins us in an exclusive pre-publication launch event! Come along and join him for a discussion of writing about politics, policing, and family, the ways current affairs play into his writing, and so much more in what promises to be an anarchically fabulous evening!
